Setting My Boys Up to Prosper

Grayson knows four scriptures now! We are actually so proud of him. That means, I have actually added 4 new scriptures to my memory as well. lol! The funny thing is, I am actually not teaching him scriptures “just” to have them in his memory vault and one day be able to boast about knowing a lot of scriptures. I don’t want him to be self-righteous and hypocritical like the Jews (Romans 2:23). See, I believe that it is mine and my husband’s job to raise our boys up in the fear and reference of the Lord. I believe that if we put the word of God in them then one day, there will come a time, since we’re living in a fallen word, that they will need to fight the enemy and they will have the tools to do so. I want them to have internal conversion as well as external religion. I understand that external religion can never replace authentic relationship, so I want to encourage the relationship by

1.     Modeling what a relationship with God looks like through Christ

2.     Teaching them knowledge about God

3.     Filling them up with God’s words

I will give them the words and put the words in him because as Mom, that’s my job; and not only that. I honestly believe this will help them prosper in life. It is then up to God to do whatever He wants to do with His words that my boys have in their minds and hearts.

How are you setting your kids up to prosper in this modern world?

Bye for now
