Are you a “Good-Ground” Christian?
For the past couple of months, I have been studying the life of Jesus. I have just been taking my time, and really taking every passage in, looking up words, comparing versions, reading commentary; I mean, just really studying the word. I learned something this morning that I thought would be beneficial to others. I was thinking about how “busy” or chaotic my life has been lately, and I read a passage this morning that just woke me up or snapped me out of whatever state I’ve been in and this is what I understood from it. “If the devil can’t hinder you with difficulties, he will choke you with distractions.” Whew!! That’s a word.
I’ve been working so hard attempting to help as many people as I can regarding marriage, relationships, and family, really attempting to take on too much and become too involved in everything I’ve been attempting to do and feeling as if some people have not been really understanding it. But this morning I realized that the success of the seed has nothing to do with the seed itself but everything to do with where it lands. It is the soil (the person/heart) that determines if there will be a crop or not.
I took this realization from God’s word. If God’s Word is not working in your life, you probably need to check the ground it landed on, check your soil. God has spoken and He has not stuttered. His Word is out there, and you can say as much as you want to whomever you want but that word (seed) can fall along the path, on hard ground (heart), and not penetrate which results in failing to experience God’s deliverance in your earthly struggles. It can fall on a heart with no root meaning you believe for a while and fall away in a time of testing. It can fall on thrones which means your spiritual growth is choked with worries, riches, and pleasures, and as a result, you produce no mature fruit. Or, and this is the one, it can fall on good ground in which you hear the word with an honest and good heart. So, my question today is simple, are you a “Good-Ground” Christian or not?
Here are some characteristics of a “Good-Ground” Christian:
1. Hears the Word of God
2. Holds on to God’s Word
3. Endures through with the Word of God
4. Produces mature fruit in their life
I hope this adds value to you.
Bye for now
